A Message From Mitche -

Ever since I was a young kid, I have been turned on by the art of business. I have spent most of my adult career learning and studying how all sorts of businesses create a demand for their product, get inside the customers’ brains, and drive profits to the bottom line.

It has always amazed me that most people who go into business are usually extremely passionate about their craft, but have little or no understanding about the “business” side of the business. The photography industry is no different. I know great photographers all over the globe who are fantastic at their art, but they can’t get their phone to ring if their life depended on it! In fact, many of the best photographers of our era are no longer in business. In today’s competitive digital age, it’s VITAL that you have a firm handle on the business side of your business.

I have literally traveled all around the world collecting ideas on how the top photographers got to the top and how they are staying on top, and will be sharing these secrets with you. My program will cover the “business” side of your brain and will include topics on sales, marketing, pricing, social media, promotions and time management.

In my opinion, I believe that our time is the most valuable asset we have on this earth, and how we choose to spend our time is the most important decision we can make. I also truly believe in the 24/7 mentality………..I want to work 24 hours a week and have 7 months a year off! If I can find a way to make the money I need to pay the bills, and then “buy” the lifestyle that my family and I want, then I’m all for it! Being savvy at business is one sure way to make this happen! “Quality of Life” rules my world, and my family is at the top of my list!!!

A Message From Ken -

My first passion, drag racing gave way to the birth of my photographic career. I sold images from the first roll of film, 126 instamatic Ektachrome slides. Soon after I became a wedding & portrait photographer and have been in love with photography ever since. Seeing and finding light seemed to come natural for me. I learned early in my career the important role “light” played in a good photograph.  I clearly recall walking through a park on a foggy night with one of my mentors. I saw light pouring through the fog creating rays and commented how much I loved light.  I was playfully smacked by my mentor.  He then said “that’s why you are a photographer”.

I began to enter local, state and national PP of A print competitions.  This ignited my quest to improve my photography.  Entering 6 images per month for 11 months a year helped me grow rather quickly.  With 30+ years of competing I’ve earned more than 27 Photographer of the Year awards.  I remain involved so I can continue to hone my craft. The best part of growing is that I impose a “style make over” every season so I can stay fresh and excited about creating powerful, new imagery, and continue to grow personally and professionally.  This continued growth is also a catalyst to keep me on top of my game in order to be able to teach and motivate my students to be the best that they can be.  I hope to teach fundamental ways you can consistently create great images by sharing what I’ve learned in my 35+ years of experience in photography.
